Rolling Stone reports that actress Rosamund Pike, most recently seen starring in the Netflix film I Care a Lot, is portraying Woodrow Wilson’s wife Edith in a new historical fiction podcast called Edith! premiering June 21st from Crooked Media.

The eight-part series that is a co-production of QCode and Crooked Media follows the terrifying moments after Woodrow Wilson had a stroke and Edith assumed some level of control.

“The story of Edith! and Edith Wilson herself are wildly compelling and at times shocking. It’s hard to believe that Edith’s part in history hasn’t been explored dramatically until now. It was fun to tell her story in this modern and irreverent way, seen through the witty and satirical eyes of Travis and Gonzalo. Edith is an irrepressible and irresistible character and it was a privilege to collaborate with Travis, Gonzalo, and the teams at QCODE and Crooked Media to imagine her life in the White House during fascinatingly turbulent times. Podcasting is a hugely fun and creative medium,” said Rosamund Pike, Star, and Executive Producer.

A trailer with appropriately movie-sounding music and humor is available here.
