Also at the LA Podcast Upfront, WNYC Studios announced a slate of projects, including new podcasts featuring stand-up and storytelling from comedians. Here’s what WNYC has planned for 2019.
- Adulting is a new series, taped live in Brooklyn, with WNYC Studios’ Late Night Whenever host and First Wives Club’s Michelle Buteau along with co-host Jordan Carlos. Each episode features Michelle and Jordan in conversations with comedians and actors.
- Chris Garcia will host Scattered, a 13-part series about the death of his father, a Cuban refugee who survived Castro’s labor camps but was ultimately killed by Alzheimer’s.
- The Gothamist Podcast, from the journalists of Gothamist, a website about New York City
- The Stakes, a new narrative podcast about how society is designed, hosted by Kai Wright.
- And, a new investigative series from Radiolab, hosted by producer Latif Nasser, tells the story of another Latif Nasser lost in an American legal nightmare.
