Vanity Fair did a profile on the Tribeca Festival calling it “the first major film festival to include audio storytelling.” In addition to a broad overview of the podcast activities they think that “2021 may just be the year we truly reach peak podcast.”
“I think it’s important to acknowledge [Tribeca’s] background of film, because it is kind of our way into a lot of these other mediums of storytelling,” says Leah Sarbib**,** manager of audio storytelling at Tribeca (until this year known as the Tribeca Film Festival). “There’s a level of attention that films get that I hope podcasting can achieve.”
The article talks a bit about podcast discovery, quotes Jad Abumrad of Radiolab, and touts the festival’s multiple days of live events all as a way to say that podcasts are booming.
