Audacy launched the first two episodes of the independent documentary podcast Exit Scam: The Death and Afterlife of Gerald Cotten from Aaron Lammer (Cointalk, Longform). The series explores the mysterious 2018 death of Cotten who founded the Canadian digital currency platform QuadrigaCx.

Gerald Cotten died in 2018 while on a honeymoon trip to India leaving the $215 million he held in his customer’s cryptocurrency unusable because he hadn’t told anyone else his password. Not everyone believes he’s dead, however, and Exit Scam dives into that. But soon accountants discovered it wasn’t actually frozen. It was gone. The vaults had been emptied out 8 months before Cotten died.

The first episode of the series “The Lost Password” is available everywhere you can get your podcasts, but the second episode is currently an Audacy exclusive, and listeners of the series will continue to be one episode ahead of everyone else until the end of its 8-episode run June 28, 2021.

Exit Scam was produced independently by Lammer alongside Lane Brown (New York Magazine, Grantland) who co-wrote and co-produced it.
