Spotify is running a test that allows users to press a single button and create a podcast. Spotify has been exploring ways to become more of a major player in the podcasting space and challenge iTunes for platform supremacy. Of course, as everyone knows, Spotify recently purchased Anchor.
Researcher Jane Wong was the first to spot the button in Spotify’s podcasts library. The Verge reports that the button says “Create Podcast,” and when users tap the button the Anchor app launches allowing users to record, edit, and upload on the fly. Spotify also owns Soundtrap which is a podcast creation tool.
