Vanity Fair announced today the brand’s first-ever narrative podcast series, Love Is a Crime, co-hosted by Karina Longworth and Vanessa Hope and co-produced in partnership with Cadence13. The 10-episode series kicks off August 17th.
Love Is a Crime follows the tale of Hope’s grandparents, famous Hollywood producer Walter Wanger and his wife, actress Joan Bennett, whose work together helped invent the genre of film noir before the couple became embroiled in a bloody scandal. In 1951, Wanger shot agent Jennings Lang, whom he suspected was having an affair with Bennett—but it was Bennett who paid a public price for her husband’s offense. Now—for the first time ever—Longworth and Hope share the inside story of the pair’s professional partnership and fallout.
