Podcasts Help The New York Times Evolve

The Daily – the number one show in podcasting according to Podtrac – has helped The New York Times create a brand new revenue stream in a dying industry. 

Host Michael Barbaro tells Adweek that Times reporters  are not just great storytellers in print. He says, “There’s just really something special about hearing a reporter talk about how they thought about the story and what they learned along the way.”

The show now has over 1 billion downloads and is heard on over 200 radio stations. The focus of the show is always: Is there a question to be answered? Is there a big idea to be explored? Is there a story to be told?
