Honey & Heart is a new podcast started by Taylor Mount and Jaqueline Braden. They launched because they say there was a gap in the leadership development space for young women. So, they set out to fill that gap. “As women in our late 20s, there was nothing that called to us or created a space for us to learn about leadership in a welcoming and relatable way.”

The hosts tell PBJ, on the podcast they discuss all the intersections of leadership and womanhood. “Both of us work in male-dominated industries and take the lessons we’ve learned in our workplaces and the lessons we’ve learned from female leaders we look up to provide a space to have tough, vulnerable and fun conversations about the future. We talk about leadership as it exists today and explore what it should evolve to look like tomorrow.”

The two 20-something hosts were disappointed when they couldn’t find an educational tool that fit their needs. “Most leadership podcasts and blogs that are on the market today cater to the fast-pace, rat-race entrepreneurs; those who are interested in learning the best ways to bio-hack their lives and how they can become tech billionaires. They advertise in a way that is gimmicky and not inclusive of the millennial or younger generations, especially women. And the blogs and podcasts run by women in the leadership development field are typically outdated and a little out of touch. Sheryl Sandberg comes to mind with her motivational ‘Lean In’ book, written while she was in the C-suite of Facebook - but what about when she was just getting started as a leader? Who represents women leaders who have yet to rise up in the ranks?”

“We are creating a space for young women to learn about leadership and grow in a way that’ll prepare them to show up in our future society to create lasting change for the better. We do it in a welcoming, approachable and relatable way. And we are connecting these women who may feel disconnected and disheartened with society by creating a community that is accessible even during the pandemic.”
