After being locked out of advertising on social media because of their mature content, the team at The Good Bits turned to podcasting. The Good Bits are stories, read by actors, to support female sexual health.
With partnership agreements in place from book authors, the actors read excerpts from steamy fiction books. The Good Bits Co-Founder Carol Battle tells PBJ each episode is a sexy excerpt from a book by a best-selling author. “We’re featuring a diverse range of international female voices including New York Times best selling authors Alessandra Torre and Sierra Simone.”
The goal behind the podcast, according to Battle: “We wanted to build something intimate and escapist, that would inspire desire in a year when everyone needs help feeling good. Audio is perfect for that.”
Each weekly episode is 13-25 minutes read by a range of different actors and international voices to represent the cultural heritage in the story or characters portrayed.
Battle tells PBJ the target audience for the show is women aged 30-55. “But we’ve had lots of support from younger women too—and reports back from very enthusiastic men.”
