Forbes has published a list of top earning podcasters. And, you may be surprised - perhaps even shocked - at how much money these five podcasters are making from their shows.
The top earner is Joe Rogan. Forbes says he’s making $30 million from his podcast - which is also a YouTube show by the way.
Next on the Forbes list are the hosts of My Favorite Murder at $15 million.
In third is Dave Ramsey at $10 million
Fourth is Dax Sheppard at $9 million.
And coming in 5th on the Forbes list is Bill Simmons at $7 million.
Here’s the methodology Forbes used: " All earnings are from January 1, 2019, through January 1, 2020. All figures are pretax, and fees from agents, managers and lawyers are not deducted. Estimates are based on data from Apple, Stitcher, Magellan AI, Edison and Pollstar, as well as interviews with industry insiders. For the purposes of the list, Forbes defines a podcaster as someone who hosts and owns a podcast. Earnings figures include revenue from advertising on a host’s flagship program only, as well as ancillary revenue from touring, paid memberships and other media (like books and YouTube videos) derived from it."
