Voxnest says the biggest podcast breakthroughs of 2019 were the “Hollywoodification” of Podcasts which helped take podcasting mainstream, the growth of podcasting internationally and programmatic advertising.
The report also details the explosive growth of daily news podcasts in 2019, the increasing number of Spanish-language shows and live podcasting events.
And looking ahead to 2020 Voxnest says podcasting’s discovery problem needs to be fixed and the gap between professional and amateur podcasters will continue to expand.
