Right on the heels of that other Prince Podcast _Who Was Prince? _the Official Prince Podcast announced the launch of their second season with _The Story of Welcome 2 America _about his tour of the same name from 2010-2011.
The new four-episode season will debut Thursday, July 22, and will offer listeners the first chance to hear the songs on the album ahead of its official release as he archived them before his death.
The new season is hosted by music journalist Andrea Swensson as well as guest co-hosts Shelby J. and Morris Hayes of Prince’s band the NPG, taking listeners into the studios of Paisley Park to explore what Prince was like during this time.
Additional musicians who performed on _Welcome 2 _America—Tal Wilkenfeld, Chris Coleman, Elisa Fiorillo, and Liv Warfield will be appearing on the episodes as well as unreleased vault tracks including “Same Page, Different Book,” “Check the Record,” “1000 Light Years From Here,” “1010 (Rin Tin Tin)” and “Stand Up and B Strong” for the first time.
