Nancy Marshall, the PR Maven, will host a one-year anniversary party for her podcast that will celebrate the importance of community, and include a fundraiser for LEAP and the Farmington Fire Benevolent Association. The podcast has been downloaded in more than 20 countries.
At the event will be Lt. Tim Cotton from the Bangor Police Department, who will be presented with the Golden Microphone Award. The announcement and fundraising event will take place Sept. 25 at Rising Tide Brewery in Portland. The invitation-only party will include many listeners and guests from the first year of the podcast. To date, the podcast has been downloaded in more than 20 countries.
During the event, Marshall will present Lt. Tim Cotton of the Bangor Police Department the Golden Microphone Award, given annually to the most popular guest on the podcast. Cotton is well-known for his humorous posts on the department’s Facebook page, including those about the Duck of Justice. His episode, number 36 on The PR Maven Podcast, was the most popular episode based on the number of downloads in the 30 days following the release of the episode. The episode currently has nearly 1,000 downloads.
Marshall, who lived at Sugarloaf for 32 years, has deep roots in Franklin County and worked closely with LEAP as a client at Marshall Communications several years ago. Proceeds from the event will benefit LEAP and the Farmington Fire Benevolent Association. LEAP provides support for people with developmental, cognitive, and intellectual disabilities. The fund will benefit affected LEAP employees, first responders, their families, and others.
