Whenever Adam Curry gives an interview, it’s worth listening to. For you kids out there that flip open your phone and record your latest episode, it’s important for you to know that Curry figured out how to podcast before technology was your friend.

Blubrry’s Todd Cochrane and Mike Dell interviewed Curry this week as part of International Podcast Day. Curry, known as The Podfather, is credited along with Dave Winer, with creating podcasting.

He also co-hosts The Best Podcast in The Universe, with John C. Dvorak, No Agenda. If you are not a listener to their twice-a-week show you’re missing out on 6 hours of free lessons per week on how to be a successful podcaster.

The interview with Curry starts at 16:30 HERE.

Adan Carolla didn’t create Podcasting….I did around 1997. I was out of work a decided to do a daily program people could listen to on my site radiofreejack.com. A fan named James Rose who was a techie came to me me with a simple program which would enable my fans to have their computer go to my site automatically and see if there was a new episode and if so, download it. He called the program “Auto Alex” and we made it available to my listeners. What does that model sound like to you? I still have a copy of the program and if you wish I will make it available as proof. I’m sick of all manner of people claiming that they did including Mr. Carolla. Yes, we never called it podcasting as there was never a term like that at the time. I really don’t care about the bragging rights but about the truth of the matter.

He is incredibly haunting! Yikes. Hopefully, they offer their podcast as audio-only…if so - I will have to check it out.
