Abdul Latif Nasser was profiled in The Other Latif, a 6-part series from WNYC Studios’ Radiolab. Nasser has finally been released from Guantanamo and repatriated back to his home country, Morocco.
Hosted by Radiolab’s Latif Nasser – who shares his name – “The Other Latif” took Radiolab reporters all over the globe to tell his story: from Guantanamo Bay; to Casablanca, Morocco, to interview Abdul Latif Nasser’s family; to The Pentagon and Fort Meade; the team conducted more than 70 interviews with more than 35 people over three years.
Abdul Latif Nasser was previously cleared for release by the Obama Administration in
December 2016 . But due to a bureaucratic mishap and a reverse in decision by the Trump administration, , he remained stuck at Gitmo for another 4 ½ years.
