Curtis Flowers has been tried six times for the 1996 murders of four people at a furniture store in Mississippi. Flowers was the subject of an entire season of APM’s podcast In The Dark.
Flowers’ last conviction and death sentence were overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court in June. However, the old grand jury indictment charging him with four counts of capital murder are still in play. In September, Flowers was taken off death row and moved to a county jail where he may face a 7th trial.
Flowers’ attorney, Rob McDuff, filed a motion asking for bail. In his argument, McDuff cited several findings from the podcast, which cast doubt on the case against Flowers.
