The data Stitcher released (from its own listeners) shows the top listening states as California (15+ million listening hours), Texas (7+ million), New York (7+ million), Washington (5+ million) and Illinois (4+ million).
As far as binge-listening categories, True crime podcasts lead the pack followed by comedy podcasts and then news and politics.
Stitcher also says two-thirds of its podcasts are streamed rather than downloaded, peak listening hours are Monday-Thursday during commuting hours, the 18-34 age group makes up its largest listener demo and the average podcast episode length has shortened 2.4 minutes since 2013.
