Spotify Makes Ads More Interactive

When drivers hear an ad on the radio that they want to respond to they typically have to find something to write down a web address or phone number or try to remember what they heard. Spotify’s new interactive Call-To-Action cards eliminate that issue when listening to ads on podcasts that consumers may want to respond to.

When an ad starts playing in a podcast, a small card will pop up with clickable buttons that allow the podcast listener to seek out more information about that advertiser. Both free and paid Spotify users will see the cards.

The CTA cards will appear in the app as soon as a podcast ad begins playing. They will also resurface later on while you’re exploring the Spotify app.

The company says, “With the launch of this new ad experience, we’re making podcast ads interactive for the first time, transforming the format from something that can only be heard, into an experience that you can also see — and, most importantly, click.”
