Spotify has unveiled its slate of podcast content coming to the platform in 2020. The lineup includes productions from Mark Wahlberg, Jordan Peele, Joey King, Lele Pons, and Ryland Adams, with genres in television and film, young adult programming, true crime, horror, and fresh takes on the hottest pop culture topics.
Here’s a detailed rundown:
• Jordan Peele (Get Out; Us) and Monkeypaw Productions will be bringing a currently untitled fictional podcast, with additional details to come.
• Kissing Booth - Elle’s Diary — A scripted prequel which will be written by the feature film writers and performed by the principal cast, including Joel Courtney (Super 8), Jacob Elordi (Euphoria on HBO), and Joey King (The Act on Hulu)
• The Case of Adirondack Rose: A scripted true-crime comedy from executive producer Paul Feig’s digital production company Powederkeg and writer Amy Reed, Adirondack Rose tells the story of a famed artist and socialite who fled the country after being accused of murdering her sixth husband.
• Mark Wahlberg’s production company Unrealistic Ideas — The highly acclaimed actor is bringing multiple series to Spotify, ranging from incredible true stories to impossible tales of soldiers of fortune.
• Lele Pons (Creator, Singer & Entrepreneur): With over 14 million subscribers, Pons rallies her crew together for a wildfire of brash pop culture commentary, deep social issue discussions, intimate personal stories, and advice from a humorous (and sometimes savage) perspective.
• Ryland Adams: Each week, the wildly popular Internet personality and his friends will dish on the latest newsworthy pop culture, featuring special segments about food, beauty, conspiracies, and everything in between
• Last Podcast on the Left — Commonly hailed as one of the first true-crime comedy shows, the 2011-born podcast series is coming to Spotify. The series features host Ben Kissel, producer and researcher Marcus Parks, and comedian and actor Henry Zebrowski (Wolf of Wall Street).
