The musical true-crime podcast, produced and hosted by Jake Brenan, kicked off its fourth season, Thursday, on the iHeartPodcast Network.
In the first episode, Brenan covers N.W.A, the self-proclaimed “most dangerous hip hop group in America.” N.W.A.’s hard-hitting beats and reality rhymes launched a “gangsta rap” trend in music that still thrives today; and their album Straight Outta Compton predicted one of the most notoriously violent events in American history.
This fourth season also examines Led Zeppelin and the dangers of the band’s guitarist, Jimmy Page; the story behind Madonna’s difficult and deeply saddening rise to fame; and even explores Eric Clapton’s drug addiction and his murderous drummer. Listeners are in for a treat as this podcast combines true crime and music.
