It seems that nearly every day we see stories about how either Spotify or YouTube are going to overtake Apple Podcasts as the number one listening app for podcasts. As of now, according to Libsyn’s Rob Walch, Apple still dominates.

On episode #202 of The Feed, hosted by Walch and Elsie Escobar, Apple Podcasts received 59.3% of the downloads in August while Spotify came in at 15.1 % and Google Podcasts at 2.6%. Amazon Music doesn’t even crack 1%.

Rob says by the end of this year we may see Facebook crack the 1% threshold. All other listening apps are at 1% or lower.

The stats Rob reports on The Feed come from the Libsyn database of podcasts.
