The new podcast will share the stories of immigrants in the United States in order to help understand the modern immigrant experience and its contributions to American society.
Since 2008, Immigrant Archive Project production teams, led by IAP Founder Tony Hernandez, have documented the stories of over 3,000 immigrants from countries around the world. These are real, unscripted stories of men, women and children who have sacrificed to become American by choice and now will be available al reVolver for downloading and listening on demand.
“We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Immigrant Archive Project Podcast series in partnership with our friends at reVolver Podcasts,” said Tony Hernandez, Founder and host of the Immigrant Archive Project. “Fourteen years ago, we set out with a simple mission, to record, preserve and share the most remarkable immigrant stories. And we’ve recorded thousands of them. These are the real, unscripted stories of rock stars, film legends, entrepreneurs and everyday folks who epitomize the immigrant journey. Each week we’ll take a deep dive into the archive to present to you, for the very first time, the voices behind our most memorable interviews.”
As a Cuban political refugee, Mr. Hernandez is well aware of the contributions made and challenges faced by immigrants in the United States. In 2008, he saw a need to humanize the polarized issue of immigration through genuine storytelling that opens hearts and minds by highlighting our shared humanity.
“It’s truly an honor for reVolver Podcasts to have the opportunity to work with the Immigrant Archive Project as well as Tony Hernandez, their work is a great collection of human stories that highlight the American spirit, hardworking people with a burning desire to succeed and provide for their families, a quintessentially American story.” said Jack Hobbs, President of reVolver Podcasts.
