9 to 5 Mac is reporting on a rumor that says that the new update for iPhones iOS 14.5 will include an update for their proprietary podcast app that will display the release schedule for podcasts automatically.
The latest Apple product announcement on Tuesday, April 20th at 1pm EST is expected to announce details on their latest iPhone software and 9 to 5 Mac’s rumor is backed up with a screenshot.
The screenshot displays the release period for new podcasts, be it monthly, weekly, or daily, etc next to the podcast category and ratings of Apple Podcasts.
Apps like PocketCast and Overcast already display this information, and podcast hosting platforms do not ask creators to provide this information, instead, it’s gleaned by apps detecting patterns from uploads.
