Nude modeling, indigent burials, fights about money and becoming your parents’ retirement plan are just some of the topics that “This Is Uncomfortable” digs into during season six of the podcast.
“Money and financial issues play such an outsized role in our relationships with ourselves and those around us,” host Reema Khrais said. “’This Is Uncomfortable’” tries to get at the heart of why that is and why we have such a hard time talking about it.”
In season six, Khrais and the podcast’s production team address a range of topics related to money, or the lack of it. In an especially poignant episode, the podcast team navigates the Byzantine system behind indigent burial programs as they help a woman locate her deceased brother’s unclaimed body. The episode highlights how the divide between rich and poor extends into death.
“This Is Uncomfortable” is also introducing “Money Fight,” a recurring feature that explores why couples bicker about money and what’s really behind those arguments.
