Content studio Project Brazen, founded by authors Tom Wright and Bradley Hope, has signed a deal with public media organization PRX to launch a slate of new podcasts over the next year.

The debut podcast from the partnership is “Resistance: Stories from Ukraine,” a new series produced by Project Brazen and distributed by PRX, launching Thursday, May 5th. The twice-weekly series will feature first person accounts from Ukrainian citizens confronting war on their doorsteps: musicians and artists, students and teachers, cyberhackers, children’s hospital staff, and many others who put aside their day jobs to take up the resistance.

A second podcast from Project Brazen and PRX, “Kabul Falling,” an eight-part limited series, debuts this summer and features a set of stories from the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. The series will follow a cross-section of people as their lives are upended by the Taliban’s consolidation of power across Afghanistan, giving voice to daring escapes and the tragic tales of those left behind, with storylines intersecting in unexpected ways.

“Project Brazen is pushing the frontier of thrilling nonfiction storytelling, especially in podcasts,” said Bradley Hope, co-founder of Project Brazen. “In PRX, we’ve found a partner that shares a vision of how well-told journalism can change perspectives on how the world really works.”

“Project Brazen’s trademarks are fearless journalism and impactful storytelling. Their work resonates on a global scale,” said Jason Saldanha, Chief of Business Development and Content at PRX. “Partnering with independent creators who are as bold as they are creative is in our DNA. We’re thrilled to expand our podcast partnership with Bradley, Tom, and the team.”

Project Brazen is also partnering with journalists Nicky Woolf (“Finding Q”), Mitchell Prothero (formerly BuzzFeed News), Kim Ghattas (“Black Wave”), and Timothy McLaughlin (The Atlantic) on new podcasts that will be announced in coming months.
