With help of Spotify’s Gimlet, The United States Postal Service is launching a series of sixty second podcasts. The “feel-good, uplifting postal carrier stories” feature USPS employees all over the country.
Spotify will feature three 60-second podcast mini-stories, each focusing on a postal worker who profoundly impacted their community, reflecting the spirit of generosity and goodwill in time for the holiday season.
These custom mini-stories, narrated by Jonathan Goldstein, host of the Gimlet podcast Heavyweight, were created in partnership with Spotify’s Studios and Creative Solutions teams and media agency UM.
The series launches today and runs through the holidays.
“This year has been an extraordinary year, but as always, postal employees continue to serve their communities every step of the way,” said Chris Karpenko, Executive Director, Brand Marketing at USPS. “We’re excited to share these stories through some unique efforts with Spotify and their roster of original podcasts to tell these stories in a fresh way that we believe will resonate with listeners. This is the type of innovative, audience-first program that brings to life the strategy we’ve developed with our agency partner UM.”
The mini-stories will run across the Spotify platform on an assortment of podcasts, including Science Vs and Unlocking Us with Brene Brown, as well as targeted spots while users listen to music. One story will also be featured on an in-podcast segment on Heavyweight as an unscripted conversation between Mr. Goldstein and his USPS letter carrier friend.
