You may recall our coverage of the Podtrac January chart last week when it was pointed out that unique streams and downloads were not included. On Monday the company updated the January chart to include that metric, which saw iHeartRadio pass NPR for the first time.
In January, according to Podtrac, episodes from iHeartRadio’s 157 shows were downloaded 162.2 million times. Episodes from NPR’s 47 shows were downloaded 158 million times.
Here’s what Podtrac said about their update: “Last week we published our Top 10 Podcast Publishers ranking for January without Global Unique Download numbers and asked for your feedback. In response to that feedback, we’re publishing a revised version of the ranking with the Global Unique Download numbers added back.”
