Podthon ’21, a virtual summit, is celebrating its third year and the event will be held on July 17-18 at podthon.com. It was created by the Asian American Podcasters Association and Women of Color Podcasters to be inclusive.
Co-founder Danielle Desir says they are paying their speakers this year and says “being able to give each speaker some compensation for their time and expertise makes us really proud.” She says the gesture is symbolic of their mission to highlight the work of podcasters of color and pay them without mainstream sponsorships.
In addition, co-founder Lee Uehara points out their inclusivity extends to speaker representation from The Ambies, The Podcast Academy, the Latin Podcast Awards, Black Podcasting Awards, and the Golden Crane Podcasting Awards.
Day passes are $80 each or you can purchase a 2-day pass for $120.
