The LA Times tells the story of a new podcast that helps students and their parents make decisions about the best colleges to apply to. Host Michael Fong was encouraged to start The Student Manager podcast after friends heard his stories of the effort he put into getting his kids into college.
He’s made more than 60 episodes of the podcast and has interviewed guests ranging from college students to coaches to people who work in admissions. His goal is to find the right fit for students and so no topic is off-limits. They also discuss issues like the college experience, retention rates, and handling the adversity of not getting into your dream school.
