Podcast host Zohreh Sadeghi was killed on Friday by a stalker who traveled across several states to Sadeghi’s home in Seattle to murder her.
KOMO News reports the 33-year-old podcaster and her 35-year-old husband Mohammed Naseri were both shot by 38-year-old Ramin Khodakaramrezaei (pictured here) Friday morning. The gunman then shot and killed himself.
Khodakaramrezaei first came into contact with Sadeghi through a podcast she hosted aimed at Farsi-speaking people. They also exchanged messages on Clubhouse. However, Khodakaramrezaei’s messages became more and more alarming to Sadeghi which is when she went to police in November of 2022 and was granted a protective order against Khodakaramrezaei in March by a judge
Khodakaramrezaei was a long-haul truck driver from Houston who became obsessed with Sadeghi. Sadeghi’s mother called the police at about 1:45 a.m. Friday after escaping the home and running to a neighbor’s house. Sadeghi’s husband was reportedly still alive when police arrived on the scene. They treated him with CPR but were unable to revive him.
