KPBS/San Diego has launched San Diego News Matters, a daily, local news podcast for the San Diego and Imperial counties. In each episode, San Diego news veteran Deb Welsh weaves together original news and features covering local politics, education, health, environment, the border and more from the KPBS newsroom, plus some California stories. New episodes are typically released by 6 a.m. every weekday morning.
“The San Diego News Matters podcast is a new way for us to be there for our listeners every weekday, on demand,” said Suzanne Marmion, KPBS Director of News and Editorial Strategy. “In an overwhelming news cycle, this podcast is a way to stay up on the news of our community in about 10 minutes per day.
