Sage Steele is off ESPN’s SportsCenter through this week after comments she made on former NFL Quarterback Jay Cutler’s podcast criticizing the company for a mandate requiring employees receive the COVID-19 vaccine

Boston.com is reporting that Steele also questioned former President Barack Obama’s decision to identify himself as Black on the U.S. Census and saying female journalists ’need to be responsible as well’ if inappropriate comments are directed at them based on how they’re dressed.

Here’s the statement Steele made after being shut down by ESPN for the week. “I know my recent comments created controversy for the company, and I apologize. We are in the midst of an extremely challenging time that impacts all of us, and it’s more critical than ever that we communicate constructively and thoughtfully.”
