Global Podcasts promotes Vicky Etchells and hires Chris Lander. Etchells is taking on the role of Head of News and Factual Podcasts, Lander joins Global as Head of Comedy and Entertainment Podcasts.
Etchells has been part of the leadership team at LBC for more than 10 years and she’s led a team of reporters and correspondents across the UK who’ve covered some of the biggest news stories - from general elections, to the outbreak of war in Ukraine, and the current cost-of-living crisis. She’s won top industry awards for documentaries and factual content including a special recognition award from the UN for an investigation into modern day slavery.
Lander’s career in comedy began at Avalon’s Live department; booking tours, festivals and running ‘The Comedy Network’ in clubs and gigs up and down the country. In 2010 he joined Phil McIntyre Entertainments and made a move into talent management. Since then, he’s discovered and managed acts such as James Acaster, Nish Kumar, Sindhu Vee, Deborah Francis-White, Felicity Ward and Alex Edelman, and managed podcasters including Elis James and John Robins, Deborah Francis-White (The Guilty Feminist) and Adam Rowe (Have A Word).
