The ratings firm has generated new data that highlights how the podcast audience has diversified over the last ten years. Nielsen says podcast listening is following the path of the national population.
According to Nielsen non-white podcast audiences have grown faster than white audiences. As of last year, Nielsen says the pocast audience was more diverse than the U.S. itself: 41% was non-white, while only 34% of the U.S. population is non-white.
As these charts below show, Nielsen has been tracking the diversity of podcast engagement, noting significant growth across Hispanic, Black and Asian consumers.
