Between 2001-2006 sixteen women went missing from the streets of Albuquerque. It was the largest crime scene in Albuquerque history. They are called The West Mesa Murders.
The Mesa podcast has been released on the 11th anniversary of the discovery of the West Mesa burial site to try draw attention to the unsolved cases.
Local Albuquerque journalist Tierna Unruh-Enos, the podcast’s creator, was working at a local TV station when the burial site was first uncovered.
