From Wondery, Against the Odds takes you inside true tales of survival with the production quality and storytelling of a Hollywood blockbuster. The new season called “Kidnapped in the Desert” launched on March 30 about the 2012 Somali pirate hostage rescue of two humanitarian aid workers that were held by pirates for 93 days before being rescued by some of the members of Seal Team 6 that killed Osama Bin Laden.
The hosts of the show are adventurers themselves who are always striving to test their limits. Mike Corey has visited 70 countries as a marine biologist and BBC travel host and Cassie De Pecol has visited every country in the world, completed a 140.6-mile Ironman race, and was on the Discovery Channel survival challenge show Naked and Afraid.
The first season is a six-part series called Thai Cave Rescue and like most Wondery shows tend to do, reached the top ten in Apple Podcasts. The first episode of Kidnapped in the Desert called Beyond the Green Line is here.
