Acast has announced a new schedule for its free Aclass digital event program, with a series of monthly sessions focusing on under-represented voices in podcasting.
Starting with Aclass: Celebrating Asian Voices on September 14, each month Acast will bring together a panel of podcasters representing diverse communities — encouraging more voices into podcasting, celebrating success stories, and discussing how to overcome challenges.
The line up for Aclass: Celebrating Asian Voices includes Vithushan Ehantharajah from The Football Ramble, Oh Annie Oh, host of Don’t Call Me “Exotic”, Georgie Ma from Chinese Chippy Girl, Shivani Dave from The Log Books, and Nikesh Shukla, author and host behind Brown Baby.
Following the first round of Aclass events, attendees will be offered support to create and start their podcast. Alongside Acast’s Aclass Essentials toolkit, they’ll get free Acast hosting and discounts from partners.Sam Shetabi, UK Content Director, Acast: “Acast is committed not only to giving a platform to under-represented voices, but giving them the tools they need to launch their own shows — and we hope that, by holding these events, more diverse voices will enter the space.
