Within three years of being released from prison, over two-thirds of formerly incarcerated persons are rearrested and half are reincarcerated. When reentry from prison programs fail, it leads to more crime, victims, and stress on already strained state and municipal budgets.
With that in mind, and hoping to inspire incarcerated people as well as the general public, the “Sec2nd Chance with Andre Norman” podcast is launching on Securus Originals.
The first episode will be available Thursday and all feature guests who share their personal experiences with rebuilding finances, restarting a career, reinvigorating the mind and body, and reintegrating with family–the fundamental qualities and skills needed for a successful reentry. New episodes will be released on Thursdays.
Host, Andre Norman, known as “The Ambassador of Hope” is a published author and the founder of The Academy of Hope, a violence reduction prison-based program. After his own 14-year incarceration journey, Norman created a new life for himself and wants to help others have a second chance.
Part of Securus Technologies, Securus Originals is a new, educational, and inspirational storytelling platform that will be delivered free-of-charge to incarcerated users through the company’s tablets.
