Based on Quartz’s email, the weekly Obsession Podcast invites users to dive deep into ideas crucial to understanding the future of business. Quartz is a business publication for global executives ages 25-45 founded in 2012.
The 20-minute episodes will feature an introduction to the idea or object of focus and the journalist from Quartz’s global newsroom who has covered the idea or object, followed by a Q&A conversation between the host and journalist. Some topics of focus in the first season include CAPTCHA, rare earths, Japanese whisky, cash, and kudzu among others.
“The Obsession Podcast is representative of Quartz’s view of the world – it’s global,” said Kira Bindrim, Quartz’s Executive Editor and host of the podcast. “The world is driven by curious people and we are creating rabbit holes for them to explore how significant obsessions are connected to the global economy in a fun format. The effect, we hope, is to change the way listeners see the world and add a richness to their new perspective.”
The show launches October 12th.
