In a multi-media, cross-platform deal, Latino journalist and syndicated columnist Ruben Navarrette has formed the Navarrette Sonic Podcast Network with podcast company Cloudcast.US.
In announcing the deal, Navarrette — a former talk radio host who is also a contributor to The Daily Beast, USA Today, and Hispanic Executive Magazine as well as a commentator on CNN, MSNBC and Fox News said, “This partnership was in the stars. It had to happen. We have so many stories to tell, information to share and impact to deliver on people’s lives. And, as someone who was hosting on radio long before I ever started writing columns, being in front of a microphone is a very comfortable space for me. At this point, it was a natural next step for me to develop an entire studio dedicated to podcasting, vodcasting and other forms of audio and visual storytelling.”
NSPN has already slated a host of programs, with the first platform under development being The PEACE Academy, where the mission is to improve all facets of policing in America. “As a journalist who is also the son of a police officer, I can tell the whole story, identify solutions and bring the leadership to the studio to share their voices on a path forward,” Navarrette said. “For instance, by helping police officers communicate better, we hope to give them the confidence necessary for them to reach less often for their gun and rely more often on their words.”
