Stupid Fly is a new media brand for golden era hip-hop, and Fresh Era is their first podcast. The series delves into the lives and careers of hip-hop pioneers, documenting what it was like on their way to the top.

The podcast from founders DJ Cheapshot, Chris Barnett, and Craig Smith will also answer questions fans have been dying to ask for decades, and the first episodes featuring Chubb Rock and Dres from Black Sheep launch May 3rd.

“The stories told about hip-hop in the mainstream are either about its birth in the late 70’s or the lives of Biggie & 2pac. We wanted to push the narrative forward and talk about the genre’s innovators in the late ’80s to the mid-’90s, better known as The Golden Era. The men and women involved during these years pushed the culture to new heights, but are all but forgotten in the public eye. Stupid Fly is here to fix that,” says DJ Cheapshot.

Stupid Fly is set to release a full slate of podcasts in 2021 and has partnered with ART19 for hosting, distribution, and ad sales.
