Los Angeles Times journalist Christopher Goffard, who was also behind the hit podcast “Dirty John,” has a new series about policework, obsession and a singular detective on a relentless quest for answers, “Detective Trapp,” in assiciation with Wondery.

In 2013, women began disappearing from the streets of Orange County. When a young woman’s body is found at a trash-sorting plant, Anaheim investigator Julissa Trapp learns the murder may be linked to the disappearance of three other women in nearby Santa Ana. The five-part podcast follows Trapp as she embarks on a case that would consume her for years. She’s the only woman on the department’s homicide squad, and after scores of other cops had moved on, solving the final mystery would be her job alone.

The first two episodes premiere Tuesday with new episodes dropping every week.

A series of companion stories by Goffard will be published on latimes.com
