In a brand new podcast from Fresh Air, Are You Sitting Uncomfortably?, storyteller Gemma Greaves interviews other storytellers on her show and challenges them to get uncomfortable.
Greaves interviews people who have got uncomfortable, faced adversity and have come out the other side driving change. This new show is all about addressing the topics that truly matter both in our personal and our work lives.
Talking about the show Greaves said: “If there was one thing I learned in 14 years at The Marketing Society, it was the importance of sharing stories. We need to share more stories with each other more of the time. We need to share stories about our industry, about our brands, about our leadership challenges, and also about ourselves as human beings. But we don’t have enough of life’s difficult conversations. We avoid getting uncomfortable. But - you don’t learn anything new by staying in your comfort zone.”
Episodes so far have featured Paralympian Amy Conroy talking about her complicated road to sporting success; Loose Women regular Sophie Morgan talking about becoming disabled at 18 and how she had to deal with other people’s discomfort and Drew Povey talking about how hearing about other people’s success made him uncomfortable and he wanted to hear more about failures we make which are more inspiring.
