Neon Hum Media, in partnership with Sony Music Entertainment, concluded their free inaugural eight-week Bootcamp created for aspiring podcast editors from underrepresented groups and hired Stephanie Serrano as a full-time associate editor.

The eight-week course led by Neon Hum’s Executive Editor Catherine Saint Louis was designed to provide opportunities to people from underprivileged communities. Eight people of more than 250 applicants were selected to learn and develop relevant skills from industry experts.  Click here for more information on Bootcamp.

“I’m grateful to Jeff Walker of SME and my boss Jonathan Hirsch for giving me the chance to make this dream a reality,” Saint Louis said. “Too often people with great editorial instincts are not given a chance to strengthen their skills and become editors. I was happy to do my part to help change the industry and to teach a talented cohort what I know so that they can pursue jobs as editors.”

Serrano joined Saint Louis for a candid conversation about what she learned during Bootcamp and her vision for her future work as an editor. Click here to read more.
