He would become known by several different nicknames: the Visalia Ransacker, the East Area Rapist, the Original Night Stalker and, eventually, the Golden State Killer. To many he was a man in the window – a faceless figure peering into homes. However he was known, in the 70s and 80s this serial attacker had Californians in a state of fear.
