Runner’s World has a story about another benefit of podcasts called “Want to Trick Your Body Into Running Longer? Science Says to Try a Podcast.” The article says evidence suggests that thinking about something other than the task at hand, which psychologists call “disassociating,” can distract you from your discomfort. Listening to podcasts while running appears to ease the pain of running for a lot of people.
