As we mentioned in our previous story, there’s a low barrier for entry into podcasting. That pretty much means if you want to be a podcaster you can be a podcaster. That doesn’t mean anyone will listen. For these twin brothers in Indiana, people are listening. And, they are making an impact.
NPR has the story about Erin and Evan Addison who had never heard a podcast before joining the podcasting club at Steel City Academy, a charter school in Gary, Indiana.
The brothers interviewed classmates and teachers and learned. They learned how to submit a Freedom of Information Act request. Now they have something big going and they are making an impact on their local community thanks to podcasting. They’re even taking aim at a big energy project planned for their community.
