There are several reports that Spotify is interested in Bill Simmons’ company. Last year T_he Wall Street Journal_ reported that The Ringer was generating more than $15 million per year from its podcasts.
Spotify has been ramping up its podcasting game with several big purchases last year and new ad insertion for podcasts technology this year.
The Ringer has 38 podcasts and Simmons has been in the space since 2007. Simmons tried to sell his company once before, to Warner Media. The price being reported in the press for that deal was $100 million
