Minneapolis resident Sheletta Brundidge is the CEO of the podcasting platform SHElettaMakesMeLaugh.com. All seven shows on her network are hosted by African Americans. The shows deal with topics important to people of color.

Sheletta tells PBJ that typically the shows talk about mental health, travel, empowerment, business ownership, marriage, relationships and parenting. This week, all seven shows focused on how communities of color are coping with the coronavirus (#CopingwithCOVID19). “One show is dedicated to #BlackBabies, another #BlackBrains and another #BlackBedrooms while another is talking about #BlackBodies and finally #BlackBedrooms (relationships).”

Sheletta says the show are getting some nice traction in her home state of Minnesota. “A lot of folks are posting on social media, especially the show on #BlackBusinesses, especially with big companies being exposed for taking millions in stimulus money while small black businesses struggle and suffer. And our show on #BlackBedrooms and how relationships are suffering under the weight of the stress caused by the pandemic.
