Jason Clopton, who hosted The Teen Whisperer podcast on the Shelettamakesmelaugh.com platform has died. Jason worked to destigmatize mental health in the Black community. Not only did he create and host The Teen Whisperer podcast on ShelettaMakesMeLaugh.com, he had free listening sessions and provided counseling for kids who couldn’t afford it.

Sheletta Brundidge shared her thoughts with PBJ. “Whatever God has for you to do, get it done cause tomorrow isn’t promised. When Jason Clopton came to my house two years ago to talk about creating a podcast for teens and their parents, he had a vision to destigmatize mental health for Black teens. In that short time, he created a lasting legacy.”

Brandon Jones, a Minnesota based therapist, had been filling in for Jason while he was battling cancer and receiving chemotherapy treatments at Mayo Clinic. Jones will continue in that role as fill in host until Sheletta has an opportunity to chat with Jason’s wife and children to see what their wishes are for the show.

Jason leaves behind a wife and three daughters. Funeral is scheduled for next Friday in Minneapolis
